Film delivery is stuck in email and spreadsheets.

The contract is signed. The picture is locked. The producer is waiting on the minimum guarantee. And then the checklist arrives — 40 to 80 line items, decades of spec language, no tool built for any of it.

The deliverables list gates the MG.

Most of the minimum guarantee doesn't move until delivery is formally accepted. Every defective item is a loophole — and the producer feels it every week the check is late.

No tool actually owns the workflow.

Aspera moves bytes. Frame.io reviews cuts. Spreadsheets track what arrived last Tuesday. Nothing structures the schedule end to end — tech specs, M&E, chain of title, music cue sheet.

The producer guesses. You QC. It kicks back.

Mono audio when stereo is specced. Flat JPEG when the spec is layered PSD. The producer never saw the spec — they saw a 200-line PDF.

From contract signed to delivery accepted.

Four steps that replace the email chain, the shared Drive, and the running spreadsheet — without changing what your contracts already require.

1 Codify

Build your delivery schedule once.

Define your tech specs as a reusable template. ProRes 422 HQ. 48 kHz, 24-bit M&E. Layered key art. Chain of title. Defined once with your shop's exact language — then applied to every deal.

2 Onboard

Onboard a title in a minute.

Apply your template. Waive what's not in this contract, add anything custom, invite the producer and their team. Status, progress, and deadline all live on one screen.

3 Deliver

Producers deliver through a guided portal.

They see a checklist, not a 200-line PDF. The primary contact delegates audio to the post supervisor, chain of title to the attorney, key art to the publicist — each with scoped access.

4 Review

Accept, reject, and own the record.

Inline accept on items that look right. Reject with a quick-select reason that goes straight to the responsible contact. Every action — who, when, what — captured for the day the dispute arrives.

Built for how film delivery actually works.

Every feature exists because some specific part of the workflow is currently a headache.

Catches the file before you do.

Every upload runs through MediaInfo and a battery of validators. Wrong codec, mono pretending to be stereo, flat PSDs, malformed SRT timecodes, expired E&O — flagged before the file ever reaches your review queue.

Your specs, as structured data.

Codecs, channels, frame rates, layered-PSD requirements, expiry rules — codified once, applied to every new title. Per-deal carveouts when the contract demands it.

Producers stop being middlemen.

The primary contact delegates technical to the post sup, legal to the attorney, marketing to the publicist — each scoped to only what they own.

180 GB, straight to your bucket.

Chunked, resumable, parallel uploads direct to your S3 or R2. No proxy server. No 30 GB WeTransfer timeout. No mailed drives.

Titles that move themselves.

A real state machine. When the last required item is accepted, the title advances on its own — no status meetings, no manual nudge.

Six months from now, the answer is still here.

Per-title activity log captures every accept, reject, comment, upload, and reminder — timestamped and signed. When the producer's lawyer is asking why an MG payment got held, the full chronology is right on the title.

Chases people so you don't have to.

Daily reminders fire for outstanding items. Configurable escalation to the primary contact after a grace period. No more "just checking in" emails to attorneys.

Built for independent film distributors.

If you acquire between 10 and 200 titles a year and your delivery process still runs on Dropbox, Aspera, and a shared spreadsheet — this is for you.

Primary

Indie & mid-size distributors

Operations coordinators, technical operations, asset managers, delivery coordinators. Anyone whose job is to get the deliverables in the door and route them through review.

Also

Sales agents & aggregators

If you collect materials from producers on behalf of downstream distributors, DistroDash structures that hand-off the same way — one portal per title, one specification per deal.

Not for you if

You already have an in-house MAM and dedicated ingest engineers.

The majors have built this themselves. DistroDash is the opinionated alternative for teams that need the workflow structured without building it from scratch.
